The highlight of any classic car owners year are two events. Goodwood, and the Silverstone Classic. I’m ashamed to say I’ve never been to the Goodwood Festival, and I haven’t been to the Silverstone Classic for many years. However, on Saturday I got given some unwanted tickets so I couldn’t exactly turn them down.
All I can say is… wow. What a fantastic show. I turned up and started off by looking around the massive Porsche display, in celebration of 50 years of the 911.
As I did, the Astons did a lap to mark their centenary and Spitfires flew over head. Beautiful!
BMW didn’t exactly skimp on things, either…
Really enjoyed the selection of classic Jags too.
Pretty much all exotica was catered for.
The addition of a dragstrip was pretty genius.
Oh, and the rest of the track action was top notch too!
Doesn’t matter how old the cars are, its still BTCC…
In summary, its a fantastic day out and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cars. That sounds very cliche but honestly, it was brilliant.
